Opened many times.<br>A map where only the destination\u2014the most important part\u2014had never been written.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Holding it didn\u2019t explain what his father had been thinking.<br>But something of that weight remained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He couldn\u2019t explain, cleanly, why he was leaving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To say it was for his father felt premature.<br>He still didn\u2019t know him well enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To say it was for himself felt vague.<br>He didn\u2019t yet know what he was looking for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To say it was for the presence of a dog\u2026<br>even to himself, it sounded slightly off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And yet, one thing was certain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Staying in Ankara, repeating the same mornings without understanding anything\u2014<br>that had already begun to feel unnatural.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was the same realization he had had on the hill in the previous episode.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He still couldn\u2019t put into words why he was going.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But he could no longer explain why he was still here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bar\u0131\u015f looked up at the departure board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Place names lined up.<br>Times. Platforms. Delays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clear, practical language. breath.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not someone\u2019s luggage.<br>Not a child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The shadow was there for a moment,<br>then slipped between moving legs and light\u2014and disappeared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the same time, a faint metallic sound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A collar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The word landed in him before he could think it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This time, he turned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tried to confirm it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But there was only a middle-aged man folding a newspaper.<br>No sign of a dog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just imagination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He could still say that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But not anymore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In front of the house.<br>In Hamam\u00f6n\u00fc.<br>On the hill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And now\u2014here, just before departure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The spaces spoke more than anything written.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Inside one of the folds,<br>he noticed something faint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It might have been the angle of the light.<br>Or a trace worn down by fingers over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Almost invisible, pressed into the fibers of the paper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A single word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote settled heavily inside him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He didn\u2019t know if his father had written it.<br>Or when.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But for now, it was enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All the unease that had built up through nineteen episodes<br>finally took on a shape\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>something close to a reason that left no alternative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He wanted to know the truth.<br>To understand his father.<br>To confirm that presence of the dog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All of that was there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But deeper than any of it\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If he didn\u2019t begin,<br>nothing would ever so\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That would be fine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even finding nothing had to be confirmed.<br>Otherwise, it would never close within him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The line moved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The said nothing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His mind hadn\u2019t caught up to speaking that place aloud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But in the next instant, the words came.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Quieter than he expected.<br>Not trembling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just small\u2014<br>and irreversible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When he received the ticket,<br>its thinness surprised him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With something this light,<br>a person could leave a city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lighter than all the hesitation of nineteen episodes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And yet, that lightness made it real.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bar\u0131\u015f walked toward the platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>White light\u2014somewhere between morning and noon\u2014<br>reflected in the bus windows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No one boarding looked like they believed their departure was special.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the world, leaving was never a major event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the step, his foot paused once.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With this step,<br>the version of him standing on Ankara\u2019s side<br>would begin to shift, little by little, into yesterday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His mother.<br>Deniz.<br>The scar on the gate.<br>The old man in Ulus.<br>The quiet of Hamam\u00f6n\u00fc.<br>The wind on the hill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All of it would move behind him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But not disappear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He understood now\u2014<br>he would carry it all forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A faint wind curled at his feet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Inside the terminal,<br>yet it felt like the wind from a high place outside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thin.
