Why do we keep walking, even when we cannot see the path ahead?
There are roads in life that do not appear on any map.
And yet, we continue forward—guided by something we cannot fully understand.
This is a story set across the landscapes of Turkey,
following the quiet journey of a man and a dog.
A story of small encounters, gentle miracles,
and truths that softly touch the heart.
This story asks you a simple question:
“Why are you walking your path?”
Why I Write This Story
I currently live in Türkiye, where I write this story.
Since moving here, I have met countless people, built lasting friendships, and traveled across many regions of the country.
The streets of Ankara. The valleys of Cappadocia. Small towns along the Black Sea coast. The shores of the Mediterranean. The landscapes passing by through the windows of long-distance buses.
I have experienced these places not as a tourist, but as someone living everyday life in Türkiye. Along the way, I have encountered unforgettable landscapes, meaningful conversations, and people who left a lasting impression on me.
Photography has always been one of my passions. I have walked through countless places and captured many moments with my camera. Yet there are things that a photograph alone can never fully express.
The scent of the wind. The weight of silence. A fleeting glance. Emotions that cannot be put into words.
That is why I chose to tell stories.
Barış & Noah is not a story about heroes. It is the story of an ordinary man and a dog on a journey.
Yet within that journey live the landscapes I have seen, the people I have met, the loneliness and hope I have felt, and the quiet sense of guidance that sometimes appears in life without explanation.
This story is fiction.
However, much of its atmosphere, light, and stillness comes from the reality I have experienced while living in this country. My goal is not simply to introduce Türkiye.
I want to explore the things that can only be seen while traveling.
The things we notice only when we stop and truly look.
And the small miracles we encounter throughout our lives.
If you find yourself standing still at a crossroads in life…
If you are carrying something you cannot quite put into words…
Then perhaps the journey of Barış and Noah will resonate with your own.
What This Story Is Really About
Barış & Noah is neither an adventure novel nor a mystery built around solving puzzles.
I am less interested in answers than in questions.
Life is filled with moments we cannot explain, encounters we never expected, and paths we continue walking without fully understanding why.
The journey of Barış is a journey along such invisible roads.
When you reach the end of this story, I do not hope to give you answers.
I only hope it encourages you to pause for a moment and reflect on your own journey.
The answer to this journey may not be found within the story itself.
It may already be waiting somewhere inside you.
